Tyler Family Photos at Grapevine Botanical Gardens in Grapevine, TX

While I normally shoot mostly senior photos, I also love to take photos of families! The Tyler family were looking for some updated family photos to celebrate the arrival of their new little one, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity!

Sterling is a pastor at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Southlake, TX, and Emily is a devoted stay at home mom. They now have three adorable kids, and their smiles are absolutely irresistible!

Emily’s goal for this photo session was to take a nice family photo to send out to family and friends, and I was so honored to make that happen for her.

Emily was so wise to keep things simple. With a newborn and two other kids, I knew right off the bat that simple goals would make the process that much easier, and getting a nice photo for this beautiful family was definitely achievable.

One thing I kept in mind during the entire process was keeping a warm glow in the photographs. Emily really wanted to have that gorgeous light, and we were worried that our time together would be too overcast and rainy.

The day started off beautifully, but by the time the Tyler Family came to their session, the weather rolled in. As long as the rain stayed away, I felt pretty confident that we could capture some winners. I also assured Emily that if these images didn’t meet her expectations, we could try again another day.

Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, so we decided to go ahead with the session, and I worked my magic! Emily was so happy with the results. This was because the clouds acted like a giant softbox in the sky, creating the perfect lighting conditions. I must say, these photos are stunning!

The kids were super sweet and they had so much fun exploring their surroundings. I try to capture the most authentic smiles and expressions by letting the run around, getting down on their level, and assuring them that they are doing great. These two were SO proud of their new baby sister, and I snapped so many amazing pictures of them enjoying life together! They particularly loved the butterfly sculpture.

Emily wrote in my feedback questionnaire, “You helped my children relax and have fun — they are usually not good at getting their pictures taken! You were able to get out their best smiles.” My heart soared after reading this!

Thanks so much for choosing me as your family photographer, Emily & Sterling! It was such a joy to capture your family at this precious stage of life. God bless you!
