Lifestyle Newborn Session in Roanoke, TX
Mickayla and Geoff are a young married couple who just welcomed their first child home! Baby Nolan was a premie and spent a month in the hospital, so this huge milestone was one that had to be documented.
When Mickayla and Geoff asked me to come over to their home for a newborn lifestyle session, I was over the moon! Lifestyle Newborn sessions are always so precious. These little ones don’t stay this small for long.
As we started our session, you could see the relief on the parents’ faces that Nolan is finally home and very healthy. They were so calm and tender with him, and they are completely in love with their new baby boy.
I don’t blame them! Nolan is as sweet as a piece of candy. It was impossible not to smile back at him!
For his photo shoot, we wanted to use natural light, so we assessed the house and found that the most beautiful lighting was in the stairway heading up to the second floor.
Having great light is essential to great photos, so this was a must. Even the most unsuspecting settings can provide the most stunning images when good lighting is the priority!
Because he’s a newborn, we also had to work around his schedule. Whether he was awake, asleep, feeding, or needed changing, it all had to be planned for and worked around. I didn’t mind! That’s part of the job. We caught a few expressive tears, but overall, he was a perfect angel.
One of Mickayla’s priorities was to capture Baby Nolan in his personalized sleeper.
One bittersweet reality about this session is that I won’t be able to document Baby Nolan’s growth throughout the years. Mickayla and Geoff moved their small family of three to Colorado shortly after this session.
I’m so excited for them and all of the new opportunities they’ll find there. I wish you all the best as you move to your new home! Nolan’s newborn lifestyle session was a huge success and a treat for me to photograph, and I hope you enjoy your pictures as much as I do!
